Ali Javed

Ali Javed teaches the Institute’s course, Islam in Local Contexts: India, an intellectual history of the Persianate and Urdu tradition, and convenes its public lecture series, where he leads the conversation with each speaker.

He leads nous, an organisation building scholarship, strategy and public-facing narrative work on Indian Muslims and Islam, producing research and commentary that spans law, politics, history and institution-building in India and its diaspora. He holds degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Amity University and in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia, and studied at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
